If you happen to be in Cape Breton on Friday, May 6th you’re not going to want to miss out on the biggest, baddest craft beer kitchen party Sydney has ever seen. If beer hasn’t caught your attention, this not-for-profit event will be donating all proceeds to the local Loaves and Fishes. Now, you can feel even better about drinking local craft beer.

The first ever Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week signature event, outside of the Halifax Regional Municipality, promises to deliver the best of craft beer in Nova Scotia. The craft brewers of Nova Scotia pride themselves in developing, creating and brewing authentic and delicious beer. Some amazing brewers will be on hand to let you try their creations, take a look at some of their refreshing products:

Garrison Brewing Co.

You won’t want to miss Garrison Brewing Co. who has made some of the most interesting beers we’ve yet seen. With treats like the Hoppy Buoy IPA, light and refreshing Raspberry Wheat and the oh-so Nova Scotian Tall Ship Amber, you’ll have to try them all.

North Brewing Company

North Brewing Company is often poured at Battery Park Beer Bar & Eatery, who serves up 13 constantly rotating East Coast Brews, a refreshing Cider and a house-made, unique soda. Battery Park serves up North Brewing Company’s Belgian Blonde, an East Coast Farmhouse Ale, a chocolate & spicy Strong Dark Belgian, as well as just about every other craft brew in the province. North Brewing Company also has a retail location on the first floor of Battery Park Beer Bar & Eatery in Dartmouth, N.S.

Meander River Farm and Brewery

If you haven’t had a beer from Meander River Farm and Brewery, you’ll want to get to the front of the line. With refreshing beer like their Summer Solstice IPA, truly Nova Scotian Surf and Turf Scotch Ale, light and spicy Grist Mill Wheat Beer, or the cherry smoked Smokey Chipoltle Porter you’d be a fool not to get your lips on these.

Propeller Brewing Company

Propeller, always a crowd favourite, features a solid line of craft beers including: an easy drinking Organic Ale, a true IPA, a gold medal winning Extra Special Bitter, a dark full-flavoured London Style Porter and more.

You may get hungry after all that ‘taste-testing’. Fortunately, some amazing restaurants like
