Dinner on the Ocean Floor

Dinner on the Ocean Floor (Burntcoat Head, NS)

Burntcoat Head, Nova Scotia, is one of the most dramatic stretches of seacoast in the entire province. Located on the Bay of Fundy, it’s home to the highest recorded tides in the world – with an average tidal range of close to 50 feet!

At low tide a magical world is exposed. Red sandstone cliffs, tidal pools teaming with sea life and an abundant florescent green seaweed commonly know as mermaid’s hair work together to create a backdrop unlike any other. On June 27, 2015, Chef Chris Velden and his team from Flying Apron Inn & Cookery hosted the inaugural ‘Dinner on the Ocean Floor’ at Burntcoat Head. Guests were treated to a beautiful locally-inspired menu paired with wines from Avondale Sky Winery and beers from Meander River Farm & Brewery.

The following video provides a taste of this incredible culinary experience.

Flying Apron Inn & Cookery will host three more dinners this summer:
July 25, 2015
