Easter Basket Treats
Here are some of our favourite local Easter treats for kids and adults! If you’re looking for egg-citing Easter events, check out our list of local events here.
An Easter without chocolate just wouldn’t feel like Easter. These marshmallow eggs (or any of the chocolates bunnies, eggs or chicks) from Sweet Spot Chocolate Shop are a delicious addition to any Easter basket.
Gourmandises Avenue Chocolaterie makes beautiful chocolate eggs that are perfect for hiding around the house or putting in an Easter basket.
Bunnies of all shapes and sizes can be found at Jill’s Chocolates – handcrafted Nova Scotia themed chocolates from her chocolate cafe in the heart of Cape Breton. To make things even sweeter, $4 from every sale of Izaak The Easter Bunny (pictured below) will be donated to the IWK Foundation!
Looking for options other than chocolate? Baked goods are a great Easter treat too. Everyone will love mini egg doughnuts, peeps, hot cross buns, macarons, mini egg cupcakes or chocolate bunnies from Scanway Catering.
If you are filling an adult Easter basket, make sure you include some Nova Scotia wine! We suggest Benjamin Bridge, Luckett Vineyards, Planters Ridge Winery, Blomidon Estate, Grand Pre Winery, Gaspereau Vineyards, St. Famille Wines, Muwin Estate Winery, Lightfoot & Wolfville, Lunenburg County Winery or Jost Vineyards.
Local Bath & Body Products
Try some locally-made bath and body products in your Easter baskets this year. Meander River Farm & Brewery makes handmade soap using hop essential oil and hydrosol as well as lavender based bath and beauty products. Sugar Moon Farm makes maple-infused soap, shaving bars, lip balm and more!
