Ron’s Famous Eggnog

Homemade-Eggnog

Enjoy this fantastic homemade eggnog during your holiday celebrations this year – we guarantee you’ll love it!

Ingredients

6 eggs (separated)
4 cups heavy cream
2 cups milk
1 cup white sugar
pinch of salt
Ironworks Rum (to taste)
Freshly grated nutmeg

Directions

  1. Put egg yolks in large bowl and whisk until light and fluffy. Slowly whisk in sugar.
  2. Stir in cream and milk.
  3. Put in fridge to chill for several hours.
  4. Just before serving, whip egg whites with a pinch of salt until peaks form.
  5. Add rum (to taste) to yolk and cream mixture. Fold in egg whites.
  6. Top with freshly grated nutmeg and serve chilled – Happy Holidays!

    This recipe is similar to the one I have used for years. One thing that is different is the sugar.  I use confectionary sugar (like one uses to make icing).  You don’t have to use so much and it dissolves better.
