It’s officially spring! Celebrate local food and drink this week – with Craft Beer Fest Festivities, live music, a Sugar Moon maple-inspired meal or an epicurean soiree.

Grab your oyster shucker, dig out your favourite chowder recipe, break out your lobster bib and get cracking –  because it’s SEAFOOD MONTH at Taste of Nova Scotia. We’re not shell-fish (pun-intended) – we’re sharing all our Nova Scotia seafood secrets this month!

April 26 to May 6: Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week

Hosted by the Craft Brewers Association of Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week is the largest celebration of craft beer in eastern Canada. It features over 15 events hosted all over Nova Scotia and draws thousands of craft beer enthusiasts.

April 27: Sugar Moon Chef Night

Join The Watch That Ends The Night‘s Chef, Mark Gray for a special Chef Night at Sugar Moon Farm. The menu will be a six-course classic gourmet meal inspired by maple with optional wine and cocktail pairings.

April 28: DELISH An Epicurean Soiree

DELISH is an all-inclusive evening of sweet and savoury dishes, wine, cocktails and cider. Some Taste members to check out: Chives, The Old Apothecary, The Press Gang, Avondale Sky Winery, Compass Distillers and Garrison Brewing Co.

April 28: Live Music

To celebrate the seasonal opening of The Henley House, Nashville Josie Awards Southern Rock Song of the Year Nominee, Lisa Richard, will be taking the stage. Show starts at 8 p.m.

April 28: Sock Hop

Come join Paddy’s Pubs in Kentville for their 1st ever sock hop dance! Have some fun by dressing up in 50’s and 60’s style while the band, Test of Time puts on a live show. Before the dance-filled evening begins, make sure to check out their delicious menu filled with local sourced ingredients and  fresh seafood!

 

Winemaker Vs Brewmaster (May 4) – A unique local taste-off between Alex Morozov, of Benjamin Bridge and Karl Whiffen of Uncle Leo’s Brewery at The Grand Banker.

FULL HOUSE Craft Beer Fest 2018 (May 5) – The flagship event for Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week is returning for its fourth year, showcasing a huge selection of beers from all around the province.

Unpredictable Dine Night (May 8) – Enjoy a special 4 course dinner at Tangled Garden with music and wine pairings by Benjamin Bridge. More information at the shop, or email tangledgardenevents@gmail.com.

12 Tides (May 11) – Discover Nova Scotia’s premium white wine at the Tidal Bay Annual Release and Tasting Event, hosted at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel on May 11, 2018, from 7-10pm.

Devour! Fox Harb’r Weekend Getaway (May 18 to 20) – Fox Harb’r Resort is delighted to host once again the Nova Scotia created food & film festival, a celebration of culinary and cinema, with an added splash of comedy. Hosted by CBC personality, stand-up comic, actor and chef Ali Hassan.

East Coast Cider Festival (June 16) – That’s right folks, the East Coast Cider Festival back for another year. 2018 will be bigger and better, there will also be the option to choose between one of two sessions.
