What’s Cooking April 17 to 24?

This week brings the return of Saltscapes, with exceptional local culinary adventures, educational demos and competitions. Keep an eye out for the incredible flavours that Taste of Nova Scotia members will be bringing! Also, enjoy an evening of authentic Chinese cuisine, celebrate seeds at the market or attend a spirited benefit concert.

April 18: Four Hands Collaborative Dinner Series

Enjoy an evening of authentic Chinese cuisine at The Watch That Ends The Night as part of their Four Hands Collaborative Dinner Series. Chef Mark Gray will be collaborating with Chef Ivan Chan of The Orient Chinese Cuisine for a seven course special menu. 36 seats available with the option of wine/beer pairings.

April 20: Benefit Concert for ALS

At Halifax Distilling Co., listen to soft jazz by Standard Time Trio, Celtic music by Rissesco & Sampson and sip on local spirits, all for a good cause at the 3rd Annual Benefit Concert for ALS.

Happy Earth Day! It’s the perfect weekend to hit the beach at White Point Beach Resort and get outside to explore. Budding and amateur geologists will enjoy their ‘Rock along the Shoreline’ in the afternoon, and by nightfall head out into the dark to ‘Discover the Dark Sky!

Join the Wolfville Farmers Market for a fun-filled day full of seeds, plants, art and information on seed diversity and the value of seed saving at Celebrate the Seed. Kids of all ages are invited to an interactive seed game. Be sure to bring your seeds to swap at the Community Seed Exchange table. Everything starts with a seed!

 

2018 Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week (April 27 to May 6) – Hosted by the Craft Brewers Association of Nova Scotia, it is the largest celebration of craft beer in eastern Canada. It features over 15 events hosted all over Nova Scotia and draws thousands of craft beer enthusiasts.

DELISH: An Epicurean Soirée (April 28) – An all-inclusive evening of sweet & savoury dishes, wine, cocktails, cider + more!

Lisa Richard at The Henley House (April 28) – The Henley House re-opens this month and is kicking things off with a night of live music! Help them celebrate on April 28 by stopping by to hear the tunes of local singer/songwriter Lisa Richard.

FULL HOUSE Craft Beer Fest 2018 (May 5) – The flagship event for Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week is returning for its fourth year, showcasing a huge selection of beers from all around the province.

East Coast Cider Festival (June 16) – That’s right folks, the East Coast Cider Festival is back for another year. Not only will 2018’s celebration be bigger and better, there will also be more sessions to enjoy!
