As November comes to a quick hault the holiday cheer starts to kick in. Our amazing local producers, processors and restaurants spread the love like no others.  From educational workshops and tastings to bake sales and complimentary treats. Here’s what’s cooking in Nova Scotia this week:

November 27 & 29
Blomidon Estate Winery, named Producer of the Year at this year’s Prestige Awards, will be conducting workshops at the Halifax Seaport Market. Taste test and learn how to best pair a variety of wines for the upcoming holiday season. Only $9.00 per workshop from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

November 27 to 29
If you’re in the Mahone Bay area during the Father Christmas Festival, be sure to stop in at Haskapa. They will be sampling mulled Haskap all weekend and gin between 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The release of a new sparkling wine just in time for the holidays! Stop by Bishop’s Cellar between 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. for complimentary tastings of Avondale Sky Winery‘s 2012 Pinot Noir, Blanc de Noir Brut Sparkling.

 The Rose & Kettle Tearoom at the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum will be hosting their annual Christmas Craft & Bake Sale from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Lots of baked goods and complimentary hot spiced cider.

November 30-December 6
Shop local at participating businesses including Boxing Rock Brewing Company in Shelburne and be entered for a chance to win the grand prize valued at $500.

December 12, 2015: Planters Ridge‘s Open House Holiday Event will be taking place from 1:00pm – 4:00 p.m. at the winery. Complimentary treats and 10% off mixed cases of wine!
December 19, 2105: Don’t miss out on the opportunity to try a three wine flight of Planters Ridge reds at their annual chocolate and wine event from 12:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
December 25, 2015: A new Christmas tradition at Lane’s Privateer Inn is coming to life. December 31, 2015:
Ring in the New Year at Lane’s Privateer Inn! Their restaurant is serving dinner until 10:00 p.m. and their New Year’s Day Brunch will be from 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.. Reserve your table now and check out their amazing menu.
