Even though it’s cold outside, we’ve got some top-notch culinary events and festivals to keep you warm this winter.

#ChowderWeek: January 23 to 30

For 8 days this month, we’re expanding our summer Chowder Trail and doing a special Taste of Nova Scotia Chowder Week. Make a chowder at home using local ingredients (with tips from our chefs) or taste different styles of chowder at restaurants across Nova Scotia. Stay tuned for 8 days of contests and chowder tidbits!

Decadence: January 28

Part of the Savour Food & Wine Festival, Decadence is an evening of pure indulgence. Prepare to sample artisanal cheeses and succulent chocolates paired with wines, beer and cocktails from around the world. Date: Thursday, January 28. Tickets: $50 + HST. Location: World Trade and Convention Centre.

Sip n’ Shuck: January 29

Sip n’ Shuck your way through one of the most memorable culinary events in Nova Scotia. Oysters + Wine = The perfect party!  Date: Friday, January 29, 2016. Tickets: $58 (tax incl). Location: Delta Halifax, Baronet Ballroom

A Brush with Good Cheer: January 30

With a paint brush in one hand, and a glass of Nova Scotia ‘Good Cheer’ in the other, unleash your inner Picasso under the guidance of Nova Scotian artists at White Point Beach Resort. The first Brush with Good Cheer takes place on January 30, but there will be five sessions – one each month until May.

The Savour Food & Wine Festival is a series of unique culinary events designed to celebrate our cultural interest and passion for great food, wine and beverages. The festival is celebrated throughout the winter months showcasing some of Nova Scotia’s great restaurants, mixologists and breweries and wineries.

February 20

Nova Scotia Icewine Festival is an annual event highlighting local wine, Icewine and cuisine – this festival features wines from across Nova Scotia, paired with thoughtful edibles from local chefs.
