Chowder Week 2017

We know everyone loves a good chowder and winter is the perfect time to warm up with a bowl of local seafood goodness!. Make a chowder at home using local ingredients (with tips from our chefs) or taste different styles of chowder at restaurants across Nova Scotia. January 26: Cocktail Event at Imbibe

Feeling like a night out on the town? Then this legendary evening is exactly what you need! Imbibe brings together some of Nova Scotia’s best mixologists and a night full of entertainment. January 28 & 29: Eagle Watch & Snowshoeing

On January 28 participate in Sheffield Mills annual eagle watch from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Watch over 5o eagles soar and swoop before your very eyes! Between 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. enjoy a snowshoe hike through Planters Ridge Winery. Warm up by the fire while sipping on a glass of wine.

January 28 to 29: Salute to Sable Island at White Point

Need a weekend getaway? Come join White Point Beach Resort for their Salute to Sable Island weekend. On Saturday night enjoy an amazing three-course wine-paired Benefit Dinner, followed on Sunday by a presentation about Sable Island.

Every Tuesday – Brooklyn Warehouse is helping chef Mark Gray (Battery Park) prepare for the Gold Medal Plates Canadian Culinary Championships in Kelowna, BC. Each Tuesday, Brooklyn Warehouse chef Steph, will present Mark with a black box of ingredients to use for that evening’s tasting menu!

Every Thursday – Check out Trivia night at Lanes Privateer Inn at 7:00 p.m. It’s free to play and will be an audio/ visual extravaganza.

January 21 – S’more Canada, eh! at White Point Beach Resort – If you’re a s’more lover then you can’t miss this event.

January 27 – Sheffield Mills Eagle Fest – Enjoy wine tasting with Blomidon Estate Winery, warm soups, sleigh rides, snowshoeing and much more!

February 4Benjamin Bridge vs Champagne – Join Lane’s Privateer Inn for an exclusive blind tasting event. You’ll be tasting 2 Champagnes and 4 Benjamin Bridge Sparklings. Followed by delicious N.S. Oysters and Cheese Boards.

February 11 – Looking for something to do for Valentine’s? Planters Ridge Winery will be hosting a Valentines wine tour and dinner!

February 25 & 26 and March 4 & 5Nova Scotia Icewine Festival – highlighting Nova Scotia wine, Icewine and cuisine. An event for any wine lover, the Icewine Festival is a great way to sample the diverse styles of Icewine produced in the region, and is a great chance to try other wines as well!

February 25 & March 4 – Nova Scotia Icewine Festival & Ghostwalk – Savor a day full of wine tasting and food pairing at Domaine de Grand Pre. Shortly after, enjoy a Valley Ghostwalk at 4:00 p.m.

March 23Devour! The Sea – Enjoy the world’s largest food film festival. Featuring six of Nova Scotia’s most well-known chefs such as: Mark Gray (Battery Park Beer Bar), Craig Flinn (Chives Canadian Bistro & 2 Doors Down), Renée Lavallée (The Canteen) & Chris Velden (The Flying Apron Cookery). This is an event you don’t want to miss!
