This week there is so much to do with the whole family! Take part in an Asian Fusion cooking class, join in the crustacean celebration on the South Shore, sail away with a lobster fisherman on board his working boat at sunrise, come down to the water’s edge to enjoy outdoor winter fun, or indulge in the Lobster ‘Roll’ Off.

January 30: Flying Apron Asian Fusion Demo Class

At the Flying Apron’s demo class sit back, relax and let Chef Chris make your dinner! Asian flavors and local ingredients are combined to make this a delicious demo class where you get to watch and learn from the chef over two hours. Share a full meal with your classmates during the demo and take home the recipes for the dishes made in the class.

February 1 – 18: South Shore Lobster Crawl

The South Shore Lobster Crawl is a crustacean celebration! Sample dozens of variations of the traditional lobster roll and lobster-infused dishes, sip on lobster ale, check out Locke’s Island Lobster Wool, shop local, learn how to create your own nautical treasures and souvenirs,  and discover Lobster Lore – the art, music,stories and traditions shaped by the lobster industry. Pack your bags and check-in for the crawl!

February 1: Lobster Fishing

Have you ever gone lobster fishing in the winter season on the North Atlantic Ocean? Learn about Nova Scotia’s winter season lobster fishing industry by going on board a fisherman’s boat on the Atlantic Ocean at sunrise. Afterwards, eat freshly caught lobster, steamed by you, with some help from White Point Beach Resort’s Chef Alan.

February 2 & 3: Winterful Waterfront Weekend

Dress warmly and come down to the water’s edge to enjoy some outdoor winter fun for the whole family! There will be lots of activities for children and adults alike. Fire, food, hot drinks, music, mascots, games, winter yoga, and more.

February 3: Lobster ‘Roll’ Off

White Point Beach Resort proudly hosts this event on behalf of the South Shore Lobster Crawl and South Shore Tourism. More than a dozen restaurants from across the South Shore will crack open their best ‘Lobster Roll’ to be judged by a guest panel of taste testers, but only one will be crowned BEST Lobster Roll 2019. Cap’t Kat’s Lobster Shack of Barrington Passage took home the title last year and they promise to defend it again!

Imbibe: A Cocktail Event (February 7)– Imbibe has brought together Nova Scotia’s best mixologists, for a legendary night, to create an evening filled with more than 30 delicious sample size cocktails.

Lobster Crawl Beer Festival (February 9)- Celebrate the amazing craft beers of Nova Scotia at this event! With the growth that is continuously seen in the industry and the superior product that is being produced, we are excited to see what the breweries will have in store.

Valentine’s Day Celebrations (February 14)- Keep an eye on all of our Taste members’ social media and decide how you will celebrate local with your loved one.

Craft Beer Cottage Party (February 16)- Sample beers from local craft breweries while you play a game of washer toss, relax in an Adirondack chair and listen to a live band.

Flying Apron: Ultimate Local Getaway Package (March 29 – March 31)- This package includes: two demo class registrations, dinner on Friday night (in your class), a Meet Your Farmer Dinner on Saturday night, accommodations for two nights, breakfast each morning, and tasting certificates to Meander River Farm & Brewery and Avondale Sky Winery!
