July 25: Pictou Lodge, Live at the Lodge

Pan-Seared Smelt, Pictou Lodge Beach Restort

Stop by Pictou Lodge Thursday evenings until mid-September for their Live at the Lodge music series. This Thursday, Leah and Kyle will be performing beginning at 8:00 p.m. For great entertainment, great drinks, great food and a great time, Pictou Lodge is the place to be Thursday evenings this summer.

July 26: Plenty O’ Pet-Nat, A Speed Tasting

If you’re ready to learn more about this fun style of bubbly and meet the Pet-Nat of your dreams, come to Obladee’s Plenty o’ Pet-Nat Speed Tasting! They’ll be introducing four Pet-Nats in five minute intervals, each as a blind tasting. Each Pet-Nat will be paired with bites prepared by their chef. All you need to do is listen, taste, and pick your favourite. There’s even a prize in it for you! Tickets are $30.

July 26 & 27: Hops & Chops

Two nights of an open air music and food fest at Mateus Bistro in Mahone Bay. This is their 6th annual festival and it just gets better every year! Chef Matthew Krizan prepares a charcoal local pork roast each eve, accompanied by Nova Scotia’s Trider’s Craft Beer and some of the best music around.

July 28: Hike to a Lobster Dinner
Victoria Co-op

As part of the Sea Harvest Festival, join Victoria Co-Op Fisheries on a guided hike of Meat Cove! The hike climbs to a vista, which offers a wonderful glimpse of the terrain one would encounter on the Seawall Trail. Experienced guides will be sharing the stories and history of Meat Cove and Seawall Trail along the route with a delicious lobster dinner waiting at the finish line. Tickets are $100.

July 28: Stroll, Stretch & Savour

Join Holly Ross of The Yoga Hen Adventures at Avondale Sky Winery for an active, fun-filled morning. Start your day with a hike of the scenic Avondale Trail System, followed by an all-levels yoga session among the vines and finishing with a guided tasting in their tranquil winery, the former St. Mathew’s Church. Tickets are $40 each.

July 28: Farmed. Foraged. FEAST

On Sunday, July 28th Meander River Farm & Brewery and Chef Lachlan Culjak will be collaborating for an unforgettable dining experience. The evening starts with a welcome drink from Meander River Brewery. Afterward, explore the surrounding fields and forest to learn about local wild edibles with an engaging wild food tour from East Coast Wild Foods. You will also receive a farm and brewery tour from Meander River Farm and Brewery. Tickets are $75.

July 29: Happy Birthday, Founders House

Founders House Dining is celebrating their first birthday on Monday, July 29. Reserve your table today to help them celebrate in style featuring a special tasting menu! The celebration runs from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Wines and Steins Tour (Every Friday from June to October): Nova Scotia’s Avon River Valley is becoming the next great place to enjoy wine and craft beer! This tour will whisk you away to this charming part of the province to discover a few hidden gems!

Lobster Lovers Feast (August 4): This annual fundraiser for Bonny Lea Farm is not to be missed. A Lobster Lovers’ Feast features 1¼ pound Clearwater lobster (hard shell), salads, dessert, and beverage. Kitchen party entertainment. A limited number of 10oz AAA striploin steaks are also available.

Avondale Sky Wine Lab Adventure (August 17 & 18): Join Winemaker Ben Swetnam for an exclusive, hands-on wine experience, revealing how Nova Scotia’s signature Tidal Bay blends are made. Create your own blend in their wine lab to be entered in a blind tasting competition with your peers.⁣⁣⁣⁣ Savour a gourmet multi-course meal by Chef Justin Floyd and thoughtfully paired with a selection of Avondale Sky’s wines. Finish your day as a winemaker by taking home a bottle of your very own custom labelled signature blend to share with your family and friends.⁣⁣⁣ There are only 12 spots available for each date so grab your ticket quick!

FEAST! A Cole Harbour Long Table Dinner (August 24): Held in the central Cole Harbour Heritage farmyard under the marquee tent, enjoy the delicious flavours of a Nova Scotia August against the backdrop of 200 years of farming heritage. This 4-course feast is sourced directly from the farm gardens and our farming partners. Included in the price of your meal is a drink ticket for a glass of local craft beer or cider (additional alcoholic beverages may be purchased). Non-alcoholic beverages plus tea and coffee included. Menu and ticket details will be available soon.

Avondale Garlic Festival (September 21): Mark your calendars for the 7th Annual Avondale Garlic Fest, coming up on Saturday, September 21st! Celebrate Nova Scotia’s many garlic growers while enjoying live music, fine art, great food, cooking demos and more at Eastern Canada’s largest garlic festival, all happening on the picturesque Avondale Sky Winery grounds.
