What’s Cooking March 6 to 13?

Kick off Maple Month with a maple getaway, Sprout it Up at the Wolfville Farmers’ Market or take part in the annual St. Paddy’s Day parade.

This March – get ready for Maple Madness because we are celebrating MAPLE MONTH at Taste of Nova Scotia. The maple trees are now being tapped and we are ready to indulge in all things maple.

March 6 to 9: Maple Magic

Plan your family march break trip to Sugar Moon Farm! With the Maple Magic tour you receive a maple brunch, maple on snow, a sugar camp tour as well as maple shopping and tasting. Make sure to book your maple experience ahead of time.

March 9 & 10: Maple Getaway

Join The Flying Apron for their Maple Getaway. Package includes: hands-on cooking class (cooking with maple), dinner Friday night in your class, accommodations, breakfast and maple syrup to take home!

March 10: Sprout it Up

The Wolfville Farmers Market is showcasing an amazing array of greens over the winter including sprouts, shoots, kale and spinach at Sprout it Up: A Winter Microgreen Emergence. Take home a little hint of spring from this delicious and nutritious event.

March 11: St. Paddy’s Day Parade

Join Halifax’s Irish community and celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day at the 11th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Dig out your best green outfits and come be Irish for the day! While downtown Halifax, raise a drink for the occasion at Durty Nelly’s Irish Pub.

March 11: Acadian Maple Brunch

On March 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. head over to Acadian Maple to indulge in hearty pancakes with mixed berries, maple sugar whipped topping, Acadian Maple syrup and maple sausages. Last maple brunch date: March 18.

Now to March 15: Dine Around

The Five Fishermen has a Dine Around menu that you do not want to miss! First course: oysters and caviar or candied beets and baby kale. Second course: wood grilled salmon in broth or braised beef short rib. Dessert: candied cranberry crepe or dark chocolate cheesecake.

 

Maplicious (March 17) – We’ve tapped into our roots and are pleased to celebrate the sweet liquid gold at Maplicious on March 17th at the Wolfville Farmers’ Market.

Saltscapes Expo (April 20 to 22) – Get a taste of some of the best culinary experiences Nova Scotia has to offer at the annual Saltscapes Expo.

2018 Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week (April 27 to May 6) – Hosted by the Craft Brewers Association of Nova Scotia, it is the largest celebration of craft beer in eastern Canada. It features over 15 events hosted all over Nova Scotia and draws thousands of craft beer enthusiasts.

DELISH: An Epicurean Soirée (April 28) – An all-inclusive evening of sweet & savoury dishes, wine, cocktails, cider + more!

FULL HOUSE Craft Beer Fest 2018 (May 5) – The flagship event for Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week is returning for its fourth year, showcasing a huge selection of beers from all around the province.

12 Tides (May 11) – Discover Nova Scotia’s premium white wine at the Tidal Bay Annual Release and Tasting Event, hosted at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel on May 11, 2018, from 7-10pm.

Devour! Fox Harb’r Weekend Getaway (May 18 to 20) – Fox Harb’r Resort is delighted to host once again the Nova Scotia created food & film festival, a celebration of culinary and cinema, with an added splash of comedy. Hosted by CBC personality, stand-up comic, actor and chef Ali Hassan.

East Coast Cider Festival (June 16) – That’s right folks, the East Coast Cider Festival back for another year. 2018 will be bigger and better, there will also be the option to choose between one of two sessions.
