What’s Cooking May 22 to 29?

Summer is quickly approaching which means many of our favourite Nova Scotia culinary adventures are once again open for the season. Take advantage of elegant new spring menus, enjoy the beautiful Annapolis Valley in full blossom, and learn how your favourite local spirits come to life.

May is also Good Cheer month so grab a friend and your Good Cheer Trail passports, because it’s time to celebrate the unique breweries, cideries, distilleries and wineries Nova Scotia has to offer.

May 22: Halifax Distilling Co. Tours

Take a Tour. Experience the Halifax Distilling Co. passion, commitment and can-do spirit of everyone and everything that goes into the distilling process. When you’re done, make sure to stop by the retail store to pick up some spirits, rum cakes, and preserves all made with J.D. Shore products.

May 23-28: Apple Blossom Festival

What better way to enjoy the blissful season of spring than at the Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival? Spend this week enjoying the breathtaking views of apple blossoms in the beautiful Annapolis Valley and visit some of the amazing wineries, cideries, breweries and restaurants in the area.

May 24: B’y Local Dartmouth Food Crawl

The Watch That Ends The Night cocktail

Grab some friends, follow the map, and eat your way around downtown Dartmouth for the B’y Local Food Crawl. Stop by any of the featured restaurants to grab a sample, or one of the unique take-out creations. When you’re finished enjoying the local food, make sure to swing back by The Watch That Ends The Night for a beautifully crafted cocktail!

May 25: The Red Shoe Pub

Come join The Red Shoe Pub as they celebrate their season opening with a live performance from special guests, Kenneth Mackenzie and Ian MacDougall. Make sure to arrive ahead of time so you can fill up on their delicious and locally-inspired menu featuring daily seafood specials.

Rose & Rooster has done a little freshening up and is now ready for a busy spring and summer season! Head over to the Eastern Shore to try out their daily breakfast menu featuring local Meadowbrook Meat Market bacon, or checkout the bakery so you can enjoy fresh bread and treats at home.

Fleur De Sel’s Spring Menu!

Fleur de Sel Restaurant is open for the season and has an incredible 2018 spring menu to share with you. The menu features everything from butter-poached Lunenburg lobster, to an array of wine and cheeses paired just for you. Come spoil your taste buds with a menu created and inspired by Nova Scotia’s land and sea.

Live Stand Up Comedy At The Banker (June 1) — Stand Up Comedy is coming back to the Grand Banker, with 4 headliners together for a show you will not want to miss.

Brigadoon’s Wine & Dash (June 3)Come support Brigadoon Village by running or walking through the beautiful vineyards of Annapolis Valley.

Vino & Vinyasa Summer Session (June 10) — This June, Planters Ridge Winery is hosting an outdoor yoga class overlooking their vineyard. To top it off, class is followed by a tour AND wine tasting.

East Coast Cider Festival (June 16) — That’s right folks, the East Coast Cider Festival back for another year.

Summer Celebration on the Hill 5.0 (June 16) — Luckett Vineyards hosts their annual dinner party and dance to welcome in the 2018 summer with special guest, Party Boots! Tickets include admission, dinner and one glass of select wine, beer or cider.
