What’s Cooking October 9 to 16?

The turkey has been eaten, local apples have been picked and our hearts are full. Thanksgiving weekend was truly a beautiful celebration of local food and drink paired with spectacular fall colours.

This week there is a variety of  culinary experiences to explore. Whether you are enjoying local food and music, learning to cook lobster or tasting local spirits at Spirited Away in Lunenburg, there is something for everyone to experience this week in Nova Scotia.

October 12 & 13: The Grand Banker

This Friday and Saturday night, Joe Murphy and Shawn Hebb are back at the Grand Banker Bar and Grill for a live show, no cover! Enjoy a fresh bowl of chowder and a local pint while you listen to local music. A great way to spend your Friday or Saturday night.

October 13: Ryan MacGrath at Lane’s Privateer Inn

Head over to Lane’s Privateer Inn with your friends on Saturday night and try a FRESH lobster dish, some local wine and beer and then take in the Ryan MacGrath concert.

October 12 to 14: Spirited Away in Lunenburg

Celebrate the growth of the craft spirits industry in Nova Scotia with a collection of fun, informative, delicious, playful events and workshops at Spirited Away in Lunenburg, the Nova Scotia Craft Spirits Festival. Local distilleries involved: Barrelling Tide Distillery, Compass Distillers, Glenora Distillery, Coldstream Clear Distillery, Ironworks Distillery, Steinhart Distillery, and Tangled Garden.

October 15: The Argyler Lobster Bay Culinary Adventure

Chef Night With Wild Caraway (October 19) —  Sugar Moon Farm will be hosting a chef night featuring the Wild Caraway Restaurant and Café. The menu will be created around what’s available in their gardens, the seashore and the forest at that time.
