September 6: Chit, Chat & Chop with Kitchen Door Catering

September 9: Rasta Gumbo at the Shore Club

On Saturday night, September 9th, the Shore Club is very pleased to welcome back Rasta Gumbo. This 10 piece, high energy, dance band will have you on the dance floor all night long. On Saturday night the doors open at 9:30, with dancing from 10:00 – 1:30. Tickets are $15 and are only available at the door! Arrive early and enjoy the Shore Club Lobster Supper before the dance.

September 10: FRESHfest

This Sunday, head to the Halifax Public Library between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. and take a stroll through an interactive festival of food delights. FRESHfest will have everyone exploring, tasting and thinking about food resources everyone should have! Enjoy cooking demos, food games, tasting, recipe sharing and so much more. Keep an eye out for Taste of Nova Scotia members Kitchen Door Catering, Sober Island Oysters and  Valley Flaxflour, joined by The Kilted Chef and Kelly Neil of Wild Card Creative.

Under the cloak of darkness, let White Point Beach Resort‘s chef, sommelier and a Dark Sky interpreter take you on an inspiring culinary adventure on the beach. This Sunday, be prepared for a Stellar Beach Feast for all your senses.

September 14: September Food Truck Party

Garrison Cup

What better way to say farewell to Summer then by attending a giant Food Truck Party? Enjoy food trucks, pop-up vendors and a balcony for drinks! Keep an eye out for Taste of Nova Scotia members Bulwark Cider and Garrison Brewing Company, as well as Good Cheer Trail participants Good Robot Brewing Company and Sober Island Brewing Company.

Avondale Garlic Fest (Sept 18): Who doesn’t love garlic?  Head to the beautiful Avondale Sky Winery. Chefs will be demonstrating their techniques while creating all things garlic. Artists from across the Maritimes will fill sixty tents with fabulous juried art. Great food will be available all day while wonderful music will provide the soundtrack to this great new event. Halifax Oktoberfest: Celebrate German culture with Garrison Brewing Company! This event kicks off with their Hops ‘n’ Brats event on September 15, followed by an all day Oktoberfest celebration on September 16. More info: Oktoberfest
