The Old Apothecary Bakery & Café takes pride in making all bread, pastries and desserts in house. We use the best ingredients available, locally sourced when possible. Our coffee and teas are all organic and fair trade.
Bread at TOA is made using slow fermentation. This combined with high hydration promotes a finished bread which is not only more flavourful, but also easier for your body to digest. To add to the complex flavour, the bread is baked to a darker, caramelized finish. We take care to produce pastries that respect their origin. The croissants, danishes, palmier and sausage rolls are all baked fresh daily.
At TOA we keep our case full of the desserts that instantly became favourites when we opened; lemon tarts, eclairs, key lime squares and our infamous salted caramel brownies. From there you will also find a daily assortment of regional favourites, old family recipes and specialty items like French maracon.
