Come to Taste of Nova Scotia’s 2021 Restaurant of the Year and one of the oldest heritage buildings in Mahone Bay! Possibly the sweetest spot on the South Shore, famous for buttermilk biscuits, picture perfect tea parties, baked goods, and brunches. Our menu changes seasonally and celebrates locally-sourced ingredients and food producers.
Named after a short story about anti-Black racism in the American South, we are a proudly Black led business, and the only BIPOC bookstore in Atlantic Canada. Our cozy cafe is a resource for Black, Indigenous, People of Colour and 2SLGBTQ+ communities.
