Pork Chops Cooked in Beer

pork chop and beer Doug

This pork chop (and beer!) recipe comes courtesy of Doug Todd for our product of the month contest. These pork chops are easy to make and can be enjoyed with grilled veggies or oven-roasted potatoes.

We suggest buying local and getting your pork chops from Meadowbrook Meat Market or The Pork Shop. Drown your pork chops in any great ale-style beer from Garrison Brewing Co., Propeller Brewing Co., or Rare Bird Craft Beer.

Ingredients
1 tbsp. oil
1 sweet onion, sliced into rings
pork chops  (Meadowbrook Meat Market or The Pork Shop.)
1 (500 ml) beer of choice (see suggestions above)
salt and pepper

Directions

  1. In a large skillet heat 1 tbsp of oil.
  2. Place pork chop in skillet and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Brown for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Pour beer over pork chops and add onion slices on top.
  5. Bring beer to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 15 minutes. (Doug: I use Irish Red Ale from Propeller Brewing Company, but you can use any beer)
