We are a small but mighty team of professionals dedicated to putting Nova Scotia on the culinary map.

Emily Haynes

Executive Director

As executive director, Emily leads a multifaceted program of industry awareness, business development, marketing, events, export initiatives, and buy-local programs to keep Nova Scotia top of mind for both locals and visitors. She is the liaison with the board of directors as well as key government stakeholders in representing the association and its members.

Sacha Smith

Manager of Marketing and Communications

Sacha is an NSCC Public Relations graduate. Having joined the Taste team in January 2017 as the Manager of Membership Services, she took on the role of Manager of Marketing in November of 2018, adding on the Communications portfolio in November 2022. Sacha leads the association’s marketing strategies, initiatives, and campaigns.

Brenda Wilson

Accounting Manager

With 11 years’ experience as accounting manager, Brenda manages all accounts receivable and payable for Taste of Nova Scotia. She also manages the day to day operations of the association and leads numerous projects, including export missions and consumer events.


Amber MacLean

Manager of Membership Services & Events

As of May 2023, Amber is Taste’s Manager of Membership Services and Events. Amber is the primary contact for Taste of Nova Scotia members, working to help grow their businesses, as well as leading the association’s event management and participation.

Janice Mitchell

Gift Box Manager


With a background in retail merchandising and a tremendous eye for detail, Janice has managed Taste of Nova Scotia’s Gift Basket program for 15 years. She works closely with our membership to showcase a wide variety of unique Nova Scotia culinary products for both our corporate and consumer clients.
