April 15: Filet Mignon cooking class at The Hatfield House Culinary Experiences & Restaurant. Includes appetizers and side dishes to accompany the filet mignon. Paired with Nova Scotia wines. $62.00 plus tax. Call (902) 648-1888 to register.
April 16: Morris East Wine event with Chronicle Herald Resident Sommelier Mark Dewolf. Let Mark take you through a flight of four favourite pizza wines. Tickets are $45. Call (902) 444-7671 for reservations.
April 18: Luckett Vineyards’ Phone Box Red Vertical Tasting and Wine Dinner. Head to the iconic Luckett Vineyards for a celebratory tasting of their Phone Box Red from the first 2010 production to the unreleased 2013.
April 18 & 19: All-you-can-eat Maple Brunch at Acadian Maple Products. As the winter season wraps up, so do the winter maple brunches at Acadian Maple (but they’ve added an extra weekend: April 25 & 26). There is still time to experience the brunch. The menu includes Meadowbrook maple bacon, pancakes, scrambled eggs, maple baked beans and of course, Nova Scotia maple syrup.
April 24: Asian Buffet at The Galley. The fourth dinner in The Galley’s four-part International Buffet series! Featuring your favourites from across Asia, including Chicken Chop Suey, Korean Grilled Pork, fresh fried spring rolls and much more! Sure to delight the taste buds for only $22.95/adult and $12.95/children under 12.

April 24 to 26: Taste of Nova Scotia is set to hit the Saltscapes Expo April 24, 25 and 26. Visit members throughout the show, or stop by the Taste of Nova Scotia culinary stage for locally-inspired tastings, educational demos and culinary competitions.
Demos will include topics like: Fuel for Life (with Olympian Tracy Cameron and Mateus Bistro chef Matt Krizan), Local on a Budget, Seaside Inspiration and the Chowder Trail. Get the inside scoop on mussels or learn more about pairing your favorite Nova Scotia wines – the culinary stage will be jam packed with excitement all weekend.
April 24 to 26: Taste of Nova Scotia Chowder Cook-off at Saltscapes Expo. Our Nova Scotia chowders are warm and comforting, much like the character of our people. Join 10 Taste of Nova Scotia chefs for a three-day competition to determine the best chowder in the province!
April 25: “Evening on the Rhine” Spring Gala with a four-course menu and Grand Pre wine pairings. The event is held at the Louis Millett Community centre and will feature Sober Island Oysters and Benjamin Bridge traiditonal method Sparkling. Tickets $125 oper person. Silent and live auction.
