July 30: Lightkeeper’s Seafest
This Tuesday, tour the Yarmouth coast aboard a fishing boat en-route to Cape Forchu Lightstation where a sunset feast of mussels and seafood-stuffed lobster, paired with award-winning Nova Scotia wines, awaits. As night falls, your dark sky expert will share seafaring stories and legends of the stars. Presented by The Keeper’s Kitchen. Can’t make it July 30th? Don’t worry! You have two more chances to take in this culinary adventure on August 13th and 27th.

July 31: Wines on the Water
This two-hour sail takes guests out to the picturesque Halifax Harbour to enjoy the open air on The Tall Ship Silva’s top deck. While on board, guests will enjoy a five-course wine sampling, each perfectly paired with menu items created by their Executive Chef. Dishes are prepared on-board, so you’ll have an opportunity to learn about the ingredients used as well as preparation methods. A member of the Luckett Vineyards team will share anecdotes about each wine that you taste. Presented by Luckett Vineyards and Ambassatours.

August 2: Jon Cyr at Clove Hitch
Join Clove Hitch Bar & Bistro as they welcome Jon Cyr for a night of live music! Cyr is kicking off his Cape Breton tour in Port Hood for Chestico Days. Starting at 9 p.m. and wrapping up around 2 a.m., you won’t want to miss this. There is no cover.

August 3: Movie Night in the Vineyard
Enjoy a wine-themed film under a blanket of stars at Planters Ridge vineyard. Tickets are $25 + tax and includes popcorn, with glasses of wine available for purchase. The movie that they have chosen to show is ‘A Good Year’. Please contact the winery to purchase your tickets.

August 3 & 4: Artisans’ Market Weekend
Join Jost Vineyards for award-winning wines and locally-inspired gourmet food from Seagrape Café as they showcase the work of local artisans – blacksmithing, glass blowing, pottery & hooked rugs. Enjoy wine tastings, wine sales & more. Admission is free and winery tours are available at 11 a.m. for $5/person.

August 4: Lobster Lovers Feast
This annual fundraiser for Bonny Lea Farm is not to be missed. A Lobster Lovers’ Feast features 1¼ pound Clearwater hard shell lobster, salad selection, dessert, and a beverage. Also featuring live entertainment! A limited number of 10oz AAA striploin steaks are also available. Dinner is from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Wines and Steins Tour (Every Friday from June to October): Nova Scotia’s Avon River Valley is becoming the next great place to enjoy wine and craft beer! This tour will whisk you away to this charming part of the province to discover a few hidden gems!
Flowers, Food and Farm Tour (August 12): Create a floral centrepiece with Denise Stockdale, enjoy a delicious brunch at The Flying Apron Inn & Cookery, and take in a flower and farm tour at Ironwood Farm. Tickets are $95 per person, call 902-633-2300 to book your spot.
Avondale Sky Wine Lab Adventure (August 17 & 18): Join Winemaker Ben Swetnam for an exclusive, hands-on wine experience, revealing how Nova Scotia’s signature Tidal Bay blends are made. Create your own blend in their wine lab to be entered in a blind tasting competition with your peers. Savour a gourmet multi-course meal by Chef Justin Floyd and thoughtfully paired with a selection of Avondale Sky’s wines. Finish your day as a winemaker by taking home a bottle of your very own custom labelled signature blend to share with your family and friends. There are only 12 spots available for each date so grab your ticket quick!
FEAST! A Cole Harbour Long Table Dinner (August 24): Held in the central Cole Harbour Heritage farmyard under the marquee tent, enjoy the delicious flavours of a Nova Scotia August against the backdrop of 200 years of farming heritage. This 4-course feast is sourced directly from the farm gardens and our farming partners. Included in the price of your meal is a drink ticket for a glass of local craft beer or cider (additional alcoholic beverages may be purchased). Non-alcoholic beverages plus tea and coffee included. Avondale Garlic Festival (September 21): Mark your calendars for the 7th annual Avondale Garlic Fest, coming up on Saturday, September 21st!
