A Brush with Good Cheer – January 30

White Point A Brush with Good Cheer
A Brush with Good Cheer
With a paint brush in one hand, and a glass of Nova Scotia ‘Good Cheer’ in the other, unleash your inner Picasso under the guidance of Nova Scotian artist Roger Savage, RCA, as you create a masterpiece!

On January 30, Roger, one of the artists of White Point, will host and guide you through a two-hour art class for beginners that will have you creating your very own 9” x 12” masterpiece (the ‘Surf’ image above). In honour of the Nova Scotia Good Cheer Trail, White Point has asked each artist to select the Nova Scotia wine, beer, spirit or juice that best pairs with their artwork – so you’ll be sipping and savouring their selection as you add strokes to your canvas.

Good Cheer PairingGarrison Brewing Co.
Roger: I’ve selected The Garrison Brewery for my class as we paint ‘Surf’. Located in Halifax, this brewery introduced craft beer in Nova Scotia with their inaugural batch of “Irish Red Ale” in 1997. Proud of Hop Yard’s humble ingredients harvested from Ross Farm Museum, its light clear amber tone, medium head and delicious hop flavour, which comes to the fore, always rewards my palette. Each glass represents a tribute to the art of hand-crafting ales with the finest natural ingredients – a perfect pairing for my work.

This sounds like a wonderful and satisfying idea/event. So glad the clever powers at White Point have launched this initiative. Wishing all the best of times.

  2. Donna Hatt says:

Why thank you M Findlay, love being called ‘clever’! It’s marvelous to have such amazing resources all around us to pair together and present in interesting initiatives. Good Cheer Trail libations and Nova Scotian Artists paired with Taste of Nova Scotia hors d’oeuvres – let the creative juices flow through from brush to canvas.
Hope you’ll be able to join us for one of the upcoming sessions – 5 scheduled, 7 more to come!
