Taste of the Month: Harvest
Let your senses be your guide this October as we celebrate HARVEST MONTH at Taste of Nova Scotia.
Pull on your boots, grab your sweater, head outdoors and explore the province as the seasons change from summer to fall right before your eyes.
Outdoors: Work up an appetite hiking through the fall colours – and then treat yourself to some warm, cozy treats. Sugar Moon Farm has great hiking trails and terrific food for warming up. Or, head to Cape Breton and stop for food and drinks along the beautiful Cabot Trail.
Taste: The province’s produce is in full swing this month. Visit your local farmers’ market to purchase fresh greens, apples, pears, potatoes, squash and pumpkins or harvest them in your own backyard.
Recipes: We’ve got lots of delicious local food and drink recipes featuring fresh Nova Scotia products for you to try at home.
October is the perfect time to have an agriculture adventure in Nova Scotia – dozens of apple orchards, pumpkin u-picks, and corn mazes are waiting for you to explore.
- Stirling Fruit Farm in Wolfville features an apple and pumpkin u-pick this October. You can also take hayrides through their farm and get lost in the corn maze for a few hours.
- Noggins Corner Farm Market also features an apple and pumpkin u-pick, and corn maze at their Wolfville location. On weekends, they feature duck races, washer toss, a barnyard adventure area, haunted house, and wagon rides.
- Masstown Market will have family fun events and a community garden this fall.
Follow along with us this October and don’t forget to #tasteofthemonth.
