What’s Cooking April 10 to 17?

Calling all chocolate lovers. This week, immerse yourself in chocolate and wine at Planters Ridge, dine with local farmers at Flying Apron’s Meet Your Farmer Dinner, sing along during the Shoreline Music Weekend or celebrate Sweatpants Sunday!

Also, grab your oyster shucker, dig out your favourite chowder recipe, break out your lobster bib and get cracking –  because it’s SEAFOOD MONTH at Taste of Nova Scotia. We’re not shell-fish (pun-intended) – we’re sharing all our Nova Scotia seafood secrets this month!

Come enjoy the stylings of local Bluegrass and Folk Music artists at the Oak Island Resort during Mahone Bay’s Shoreline Music Weekend. Featuring Nova Scotia icon, Old Man Luedecke. Don’t miss this chance to sit back and fill your weekend with some toe-tapping fun!

April 14: Chocolate & Wine Seminar

Join Certified Chocolate Makers at Planters Ridge for an in-depth look at the history and biology of bean-to-bar chocolate making. You will also have the opportunity to pair wines with the chocolate and learn how the flavours can compliment each other.

April 14: Meet Your Farmer Dinner

Celebrate local food at The Flying Apron with a wonderful buffet and lively conversations at their Meet Your Farmer Dinner. Each of guest farmer/producer will give a brief talk about their business and speak to a pressing Nova Scotia issue in their sector.

April 15: Sweatpants Sunday

In case you didn’t know – every Sunday between 10:30 and 3:00 at The Stubborn Goat take advantage 15% off brunch food if you wear your sweatpants! Must try: their lobster eggs benny with a spicy Caesar.

April 17: Tree for all Seasons Party Night

2018 Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week (April 27 to May 6) – Hosted by the Craft Brewers Association of Nova Scotia, it is the largest celebration of craft beer in eastern Canada. It features over 15 events hosted all over Nova Scotia and draws thousands of craft beer enthusiasts.
