L’Acadie Vineyards: East Coast Music Week

L’Acadie Vineyards’
wine may be traditional, but owner and winemaker Bruce Ewert is anything but. Lately he’s been hanging-out with the East Coast’s top musical talents like indie-rockers Paper Lions and the great Jimmy Rankin. L’Acadie Vineyards was chosen for the second year in a row as the official wine of  East Coast Music Week, which was held this past April 2 to 6, 2014 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

“We were honoured to pour our wines at this significant event to recognize the amazing talents of east coast musicians,” said Ewert.

Events kicked off with the nomination announcement on February 18, 2014 at the Delta Prince Edward Island where media and attendees enjoyed musical entertainment by Erin Costello, Paper Lions and Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire. During the reception, sponsored in part by L’Acadie Vineyards, Ewert débuted his cocktail “L’Acadie Blue” – a blueberry mimosa made with L’Acadie Vineyards Brut and Van Dyk’s Blueberry Juice.

Beyond being honoured as the exclusive wine of the ECMAs, Ewert and Islanders alike had another reason to celebrate. For the entire month of April, L’Acadie  wines were listed in select P.E.I Liquor stores.

During East Coast Music Week, Ewert paired up with the East Coast Music Association and the P.E.I. Liquor Control Commission to give away eight show tickets to lucky wine-lovers who came out for L’Acadie Vineyards’ samplings.

Performers and stars were gifted L’Acadie’s Vintage Cuvée, and corks were popping all over Charlottetown as the lobby of the Delta was transformed into a premier concert venue for East Coast Music Week.

“As a personal fan of sparkling wines, it’s fantastic to have a delicious local option,” said Andria Wilson, Interim Executive Director of the ECMA.
