With home-smoked meats, and fresh, in season seafoods, Mateus Bistro is able to bring simple, tasty food to the table. The menus change seasonally, and depend upon what is locally available.
Chef Matthew Krizan, and his partner, Kira Curtis, have grown this bistro to focus on an appreciation of food and where it comes from. Three Big Green Egg BBQs are built into the patio, where you can watch Chef Matt smoking meats and vegetables. All summer, every Friday, is a grill menu where everything is charcoal grilled to order.
The bistro boasts a drink menu with more than 20 Nova Scotian wines and more than a dozen local beers and spirits.
