We’re not certain how it’s already the end of August, but we are certain that this week we are celebrating all things blueberry! Head to a U-Pick, a cooking class or stop by the Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival. Whether you’re a baker, a dessert lover or a drink enthusiast, Blueberry Month has something for everyone!

Blueberry lovers! Mark your calendars for the Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival.  Over the next couple of weeks, enjoy a HUGE schedule of events including live music, community picnics, teas, suppers and pancake breakfasts, farmers’ markets, pie eating and baking contests, U-Picks, processing tours, blueberry wine fest, beer gardens, kitchen parties and more!

August 23: Miles Davis Tribute at Obladee

The middle of the work week can be tough, why not make it a Wine Wednesday at Obladee, A Wine Bar. Sip your way through local wines and enjoy a tribute to Miles Davis performed right before your eyes. Jazz is the perfect music to pair with aromatic Nova Scotian wines so be sure to swing by.

August 24: Matt Mays Live at the Shore Club 

Matt Mays is playing at The Shore Club this weekend and you don’t want to miss out! Any place you can rock out while supporting local is the best way to spend a weekend in Nova Scotia.

August 25: Under the Sea Cooking Class

Seafood is a staple in Nova Scotia but it can daunting if you don’t know how to prepare it. Let Kitchen Door Catering take the reins and teach your their favourite techniques at their Under the Sea cooking class. We suggest pairing your seafood dishes with a local Tidal Bay wine to really top it off!

August 25: Great Food and Free Music Fridays

August 27: Vino and Vinyasa 

The energy of a sunlit vineyard on a warm summers’ day is intoxicating and rejuvenating. After your refreshing vineyard yoga session, take a tour of the beautiful Planters Ridge vineyard, and sip some wine of course.

Avondale Garlic Fest (Sept 18):–  Who doesn’t love garlic?  Head to the beautiful Avondale Sky Winery. Chefs will be demonstrating their techniques while creating all things garlic. Artists from across the Maritimes will fill sixty tents with fabulous juried art. Great food will be available all day while wonderful music will provide the soundtrack to this great new event.
