VĒRO by Benjamin Bridge
Derived from the Latin word for truth, veritas, VĒRO by Benjamin Bridge ‘speaks the truth’ of our land. It displays the most celebrated elements of this region’s viticulture – inviting floral aromatics, crisp acidity, and fresh minerality capture Nova Scotia’s quintessential terroir. This elegant white wine is quite simply a true reflection of place.
VĒRO was launched Saturday, September 11 at the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market, and is now also available in select NSLC and private wine stores. The retail price is $21.95.
Winemakers Peter J. Gamble and Jean‐Benoit Deslauriers crafted fewer than 200 cases of this limited edition white. Made predominantly from the signature Nova Scotia grape, L’Acadie Blanc, it displays the wonderful characteristics unique to this region.
“On the nose, fresh pineapple and watermelon notes bring complexity to adistinctive orange blossom undertone.
On the palate, the wine reveals an elegant personality, displaying a refreshing, food‐friendly character defined by minerality and a persistent finish. .. a classic structure leads to a lengthy finale, leaving a lasting impression of sweet lemon and clover honey.” Jean‐Benoit Deslauriers
Extremely versatile. Served chilled. Savour on its own or as the perfect match for Nova Scotia’s bounty of the sea ‐ Malagash Oysters, Digby scallops, Fundy lobster and line‐fresh haddock. An ideal accompaniment to light summer fare and appetizers made from fresh local greens and vegetables.
