Around the World in 80 Plates
For the entire month of March, Curated Food & Drink Magazine is hosting a international food festival and fundraiser in support of Feed Nova Scotia, titled Around the World in 80 Plates. Participating restaurants are offering international dishes, so diners can circle the globe, exploring the vast selection of delicious international cuisine while supporting their favourite local restaurants. 2 Doors Down
2 Doors Down is offering a little taste of Austria with their Viennese Pork Schnitzel! Breaded escalope of Nova Scotia pork, garlic butter & herb spaetzle, braised red cabbage with apple and bacon, and roasted mushroom creamed gravy are just some of the ingredients in this great dish.
The Church Brewing Co.
A Vietnamese-inspired Banh Mi is what The Church Brewing Co. is bringing to this year’s festival! The sandwich consists of spiced pork shoulder, pickled julienne vegetables & cilantro aioli on toasted house-made sesame bread, along with your choice of fries, Caesar salad, or soup as a side.
The Flying Apron Cookery
The Flying Apron Cookery’s German Pork Schnitzel is a must-try dish! Ironwood Farm pork, mushroom cream sauce and hand-cut organic potato fries are some of the things that make up this hearty meal.
Maritime Express Cider Co.
Maritime Express Cider is sticking with a classic for this year’s festival, with their Hot Hamburger. This burger consists of hot bison loose meat on fry bread with peas and gravy, a perfect meal for chilly March weather!
Winegrunt
Enjoy the flavour’s of South Africa with Winegrunt’s Bobotie! This is a traditional South African dish of spiced minced meat, toasted almonds, sultana raisins, baked with an egg-based topping, also served with yellow rice & peas, and house-made chutney. Sounds delicious right?!
