Nova Libré Cocktail
This cocktail features Glen Breton Rare 10 Year Old Single Malt Whisky and Tangled Garden’s Elderflower Cordial – perfect for a day at the cottage.
Ingredients
1.5 oz | Glen Breton Rare 10 Year Old Single Malt Whisky |
1 oz | roasted Nova Scotia plum syrup* |
0.5 oz | Tangled Garden Elderflower Cordial |
1 oz | fresh lemon juice |
3 dashes | black walnut bitters |
Garnish | candied lemon peel |
Directions
Makes: 1 serving
- In a cocktail shaker, add all ingredients over ice.
- Shake vigorously.
- Strain into an old fashioned glass over fresh ice.
- Garnish with candied lemon peel.
*Plum Syrup recipe:
Preheat oven to 177°C (350°F). Halve and pit red Nova Scotia plums. Lay plums on baking sheet and drizzle maple syrup overtop. Bake for 30 minutes. When finished baking, add plums and juices to a pot with cane sugar, water, cinnamon stick, cloves, and ginger. Over medium heat, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Fine strain syrup with a mesh strainer to remove solids. Store syrup in the refrigerator.
