Nova Libré Cocktail

This cocktail features Glen Breton Rare 10 Year Old Single Malt Whisky and Tangled Garden’s Elderflower Cordial – perfect for a day at the cottage. 

Ingredients

1.5 oz Glen Breton Rare 10 Year Old Single Malt Whisky
1 oz roasted Nova Scotia plum syrup*
0.5 oz Tangled Garden Elderflower Cordial
1 oz fresh lemon juice
3 dashes black walnut bitters
Garnish candied lemon peel

Directions

Makes: 1 serving

  1. In a cocktail shaker, add all ingredients over ice.
  2. Shake vigorously.
  3. Strain into an old fashioned glass over fresh ice. 
  4. Garnish with candied lemon peel. 

*Plum Syrup recipe:

Preheat oven to 177°C (350°F). Halve and pit red Nova Scotia plums. Lay plums on baking sheet and drizzle maple syrup overtop. Bake for 30 minutes. When finished baking, add plums and juices to a pot with cane sugar, water, cinnamon stick, cloves, and ginger. Over medium heat, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Fine strain syrup with a mesh strainer to remove solids. Store syrup in the refrigerator.
