Nova Scotia Sangria
This will be your new favourite drink.
The Nova Scotia Sangria is a locally-inspired sangria made with four uniquely Nova Scotian products: Tidal Bay, apple brandy, haskap juice and ginger beer. It’s delicious, easy-to-drink and will be a HUGE hit at your next cottage party or backyard BBQ.

1 (750ml) bottle | Nova Scotia Tidal Bay (we used Jost Vineyards for this recipe) |
2/3 cup | white sugar (add more or less sugar for your tastes) |
1/2 cup | Haskapa Haskap juice |
1 | lime, sliced into wedges |
2 oz | Ironworks Distillery Apple Brandy |
2 (341 ml) bottles | Propeller Brewing Company Ginger Beer |
Directions
- Pour wine into a pitcher with haskap juice
- Squeeze juice from lime wedges into the mixture. Toss the wedges into the pitcher
- Add brandy and sugar
- Chill at least one hour, overnight is best.
- Add ginger beer before serving and enjoy!
Recipe Hints
The citrus notes of Jost’s Tidal Bay, lime wedges and the tart haskap berry juice, compliment the spiciness of Propeller’s ginger beer, while Ironwork’s Apple Brandy gives this punch a sweet kick. This cocktail recipe is great on its own, but also pairs well with salty snacks, grilled seafood and BBQ chicken.
