Taste of the Month: Maple

Sugar Moon Maple Month

Maple season has arrived and we’ve been seduced by its sweet disposition.

Delectable brunches, sweet treats and an abundance of maple activities are awaiting your discovery this March. The emergence of sap in the trees is also one of the first signs spring is on its way. Lace up your boots, get out of the house and join in on the maple mania!

Maple at home: We have two new maple recipes for you to try this month. Keep an eye on our website and social platforms for our Maple Bundt Cake and Maple Bacon Crêpe recipes.

Blowout brunch: Has there ever been a more iconic duo that pancakes and maple syrup? Decide for yourself and indulge in a delicious, decadent maple brunch at Sugar Moon Farm or Acadian Maple Products.

Explore: Keep track of other maple brunches and activities happening across the province with our What’s Cooking blog.

Swap sugar for syrup: We love maple syrup on pancakes – but did you know this natural sweetener can be used in a variety of other recipes as a substitute for table sugar? Try using maple syrup in your morning coffee, oatmeal, yoghurt or desserts.

Tap your own tree: Curious about making your own maple syrup? Check out our How to Tap a Maple Tree Blog for a step by step how to guide.

Be Social: Don’t forget to share photos of your maple madness with us on Instagram and Twitter using #tasteofthemonth.

Win: Our contest to win a Taste of Nova Scotia Breakfast Box  launches this month. Follow us on Facebook to win.

Curious what we’ve got planned next? We’ll be featuring the following Nova Scotia themes in the coming months:

April – Seafood
May – Good Cheer
June – Picnics & Patios
