Gidney Fisheries Ltd.
Gidney Fisheries, located in Southwestern Nova Scotia, is a privately held, family-owned lobster company spanning four generations of the Gidney family.
In 1892, Samuel Gidney began buying lobsters from local fishermen and exported them on a weekly basis via steamship to Boston, Massachusetts, and this tradition continues today.
We purchase our lobster products directly from local fisherman in the Province’s Bay of Fundy and St. Mary’s Bay.
We have fresh caught lobster for nine and a half months of the year and supply our clients in the off season from our temperature controlled lobster holding facilities in Metaghan and Centreville, with a combined 400,000 + lbs of holding capacity.
