Apple Slaw – pictured with the Apple BBQ Pork Sandwich
An Apple a Day
Fresh, tangy and just the right amount of sweet – this apple slaw can be used with our recipe for Apple BBQ Pork Sandwiches, paired with a delicious fish dish or served as the perfect side. Experiment with different apple varieties to find your favourite combination!
||Large Nova Scotia apple, cored and julienned
|1/3 cup carrot
||Carrot, coarsely grated
||Purple cabbage, shaved on mandolin or coarsely grated
||Apple cider vinegar
|1 1/2 Tbsp
- In a mixing bowl combine vinegar, oil, mayonnaise, sugar, mustard, salt, pepper and celery seed.
- Add the apple, carrot, and cabbage to the mixing bowl, toss, taste and add salt if necessary, then refrigerate.
- Eat on your favourite sandwich, as a side or with fried fish.
