What’s Cooking July 11 to 18, 2017?

We’ve paid our dues Nova Scotia, it’s time to enjoy warm weather this July. What better way to do just that than with lively parties, live music, mouthwatering dinners and brand new menus that will have you wishing summer would never end. We’ve pulled out all the stops this week and there’s no place we’d rather be than Nova Scotia!

July 12: Lot Six One Year Anniversary Bash

Lot Six is celebrating their one year anniversary and they want YOU to be there. To get the party started their launching a new patio cocktail menu so you can sip and savour every refreshing glass on the patio. Be sure to give their new summer dinner menu a try while you’re at it. Awesome drinks, great food and friends to celebrate with, now that’s a party.

July 12-15: Live Jazz at Halifax Distilling Co.

If you’re looking for a new jazz hot spot in Halifax, look no further than Halifax Distilling Co. Halifax Distilling Co. is now serving food through Kitchen Door Catering to compliment their amazing drinks. Now there’s even more reason to love them.

July 15: Vintage Dinner at Luckett Vineyards

Enjoy a 5-course dinner expertly crafted by Luckett Vineyard’s executive chef, Mark Lambert and guest chef Lachlan Culjak.  Owner Pete Luckett and winemaker Mike Mainguy will pair their favourites with this delectable feast. Local food and wine with a stunning view of the Annapolis Valley, you don’t want to miss out!

July 15: Jost Vineyard’s Summer Festival

Delicious Nova Scotia wine, food and music all in one beautiful place. The Jost Vineyards summer festival is here –  featuring Rawlins Cross. Take it to the patio and enjoy live music with tastings, tours and great local food. Nova Scotia knows how to throw a summer party and you don’t want to miss this one.

July 29: Nova Scotia Good Cheer & BBQ 

Night two of the Georges Island Dinner Series is Nova Scotia Good Cheer & BBQ. Local craft beer, wine, cider and spirits paired with BBQ favourites. Talk about elevating your normal backyard BBQ! Lots of flavour and fun in one unforgettable spot with an amazing view.

The Press Gang

The historical atmosphere of The Press Gang is enough to make you feel like you’ve been captured in a moment in time. They have a great selection of food for the culinary aficionados in your life. Their new menu is no exception. Try out their new menu option The Drill and give the chef the reins to create a 5-course tasting menu for two. Nothing better than extraordinary works of art you can eat!

Lot Six

Lot Six has launched a new menu that is sure to have you drooling onto your keyboard. Everything from gourmet comforting appetizers like their Halloumi Tots to rich, succulent mains like their beef tenderloin. Finish the night off with one of their delicious desserts like the French Canadian Maple Pie and you’ll be adding Lot Six onto your regular night out roster.

We know you’ve been waiting and it’s finally here! Chives Canadian Bistro has a brand new look and a new seasonal menu to go along with it. Nova Scotia Lobster Feast (July 28): Experience Nova Scotia lobster like never before!  Savour fresh, steamed lobster paired with Nova Scotia wines at the Taste of Nova Scotia Lobster Feast. Night one of this Georges Island dinner series is a foodies’ dream.

Sip n’ Shuck (July 30): Night three of the Georges Island Dinner Series is Sip n’ Shuck. The world is your oyster as you sip n’ shuck your way through this pearly evening.   Featuring Nova Scotia oysters, mussels, and seafood paired with local craft beer, wine, cider and spirits.

Halifax Seaport Beerfest (Aug 11 & 12): Back and with 110 producers discussing over 300 unique products. Taste members you’ll want to sample include: Boxing Rock Brewing CoBulwark Cider and Garrison Brewing Co.

 Halifax Oyster Festival (Sept 29 & 30): – Savour as many oysters as your heart (and stomach) desires at the annual Halifax Oyster Festival. Two delectable days of high quality local shellfish to sip, sample and enjoy. Be sure to sample some Taste members participating like Sober Island OystersEel Lake Oyster Farm and Bay Enterprises Limited.
