2024 Taste of Nova Scotia Award Recipients Announced

Wolfville, October 24, 2024: The Taste of Nova Scotia Awards are presented each year to celebrate the vibrant culinary industry in Nova Scotia, and the people, places, and products that shape it. The 2024 award recipients were announced during DEVOUR! The Food Film Fest in Wolfville on October 24, 2024.

“The annual Taste of Nova Scotia Awards celebrate the countless businesses that shape the rich culinary landscape of our province,” says Emily Haynes, executive director of Taste of Nova Scotia. “It is with great pride that we share the stories of this year’s five award recipients, whose leadership and exceptional contributions have not only elevated their industries but also enriched their communities and the province as a whole” – Emily Haynes, Taste of Nova Scotia Executive Director

The following Nova Scotia businesses received 2024 Taste of Nova Scotia Awards:

Award for Service
Carol Reynolds – Beach Pea Kitchen & Bar (Lunenburg, South Shore)

Product of the Year
Micro Garden – Bramble Hill Farm (Greenhill, Northumberland Shore)

Restaurant of the Year
Lupin Dining & Pantry (Musquodoboit Harbour, Eastern Shore)

Producer of the Year
Annapolis Fine Cheese (Wolfville, Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley)

Gary MacDonald Culinary Ambassador Award
The Jennings Family – Masstown Market (Masstown, Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley)

It is a big accomplishment,” says Kim MacPherson, Owner of Lupin. “Not only our team at Lupin, and my family who have always supported me over the years, but also for our community along the Eastern Shore. We are so proud to contribute to the unique appeal and growth of our community.”

The Taste of Nova Scotia Awards are the only province-wide awards that celebrate restaurants, service, food and beverage producers, exporters, and industry leaders, from Yarmouth to Sydney – and everywhere in between.

“We believe passionately in the local food movement. We think that life gets better, culture gets better, and your community gets better when you eat and drink the things grown around you,” says Sean Myles, owner of Annapolis Fine Cheese. “We’re a small family business so this award means everything to us as a family.”

Nominations for the Taste of Nova Scotia Awards were received from Taste of Nova Scotia members and the public. The nominations were brought to a judges’ panel and then approved by the Taste of Nova Scotia Board of Directors.
