Local Guide to Patio Season
Spring is here and summer is right around the corner! This means that patio season will be here before we know it. Check out our round-up of a few Nova Scotia restaurants from each region of the province, with beautiful patios, stunning views and delicious food.
Yarmouth & Acadian Shores: the Argyler Lodge
Watch the sunset and experience a gourmet getaway by the sea on the Argyler’s main deck overlooking Lobster Bay. They specialize in a chef-created, seasonal, locally inspired menu that changes regularly depending on what is fresh from their garden, local farms and sea. They grow most of their own herbs and produce onsite in their gardens and partner with local farmers and fisheries, all to provide you with the freshest and finest menu items possible.
South Shore: The South Shore Fish Shack
Surrounded by beautiful history, the South Shore Fish Shack looks out over the Lunenburg waterfront. With a menu featuring simple seaside favourites, sourced locally, and classically prepared, the dishes are designed to let the fresh seafood shine, while you enjoy stunning harbour views from their patio.
Northumberland Shore: The Townhouse
Nestled in the heart of Antigonish you’ll find the Townhouse and their menu full of locally sourced fresh ingredients. Stop by and enjoy their upscale, pub-style cuisine on their beautiful patio.
Eastern Shore: Liscombe Lodge Resort & Conference Centre
Located on Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore, Liscombe Lodge Resort & Conference Centre may not have a patio at their restaurant, but we encourage you to create your own intimate patio experience from the deck of one of their cabins. The resort overlooks the river and the beautiful, lush, woodland scenery of the Eastern Shore.
Halifax Metro: Waterfront Warehouse Restaurant & Oyster Bar
Right on the waterfront in Halifax, Waterfront Warehouse Restaurant & Oyster Bar has a gorgeous view of the harbour. With a menu full of fresh, local seafood, this is a stop that must be added to your patio season bucket list.
Cape Breton: Governor’s Pub & Eatery
Located in Downtown Sydney, people know Governor’s Pub & Eatery for their delicious fresh seafood. This local staple is located in a historical building converted to now be a restaurant and pub. The patio overlooks the water with a beautiful view, making this a must stop for patio season.
Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley: Luckett Vineyards
Last but definitely not least, Luckett Vineyards has one of the most beautiful views in Nova Scotia. Enjoy a local beverage and food on their patio all while overlooking the breathtaking Gaspereau Valley.
