The Path Less Travelled – Itinerary
Friday: Halifax Metro
Your day: Five stamps on your passport – all within a cab ride of each other. Halifax is a crucial stop for anyone wanting to kick off their Good Cheer Trail adventure. Work your way through Good Robot Brewing Co., Propeller Brewing Co., Gahan House Halifax and Garrison Brewing Co., before wrapping up the night with food, beer and live entertainment at Rockbottom Brewpub.
Must try drinks: Beer. And let us know your favourites by using #GoodCheerTrail.
Overnight accommodation: Delta Halifax or Delta Barrington. Be sure to enjoy breakfast at Harbour City Bar & Grill or Tempo Food + Drink the next morning!
Saturday: Eastern Shore & Antigonish
Your day: After breakfast, hit the highway and make tracks for scenic Guysborough. There, you’ll find both Authentic Seacoast Distilling Company and Rare Bird Craft Beer waiting to greet you. After sampling their specialties, head for Antigonish and wrap up day two with a pint at The Townhouse Brewpub and Eatery.
Must try drink: Authentic Seacoast Distilling Company’s Sea Fever rum.
Overnight accommodation: DesBarres Manor Inn or Maritime Inn Antigonish. You won’t regret grabbing breakfast at their Main Street Café in the morning!
Sunday: The Northumberland Shore
Your day: Prepare to drink (and see!) some of the best Nova Scotia has to offer. Enjoy a scenic drive along the Northumberland Shore to the Tatamagouche Brewing Company, for some pure Tatamagoodness. After that, spend the remainder of the afternoon at Jost Vineyards, where we recommend a tour of the vineyard in addition to wine sampling.
Must try drink: On the Northumberland Shore, it’s all about the tides – celebrate Nova Scotia’s wine appellation with a bottle of Jost Vineyards’ Tidal Bay.
Overnight accommodation: Sleep in a train car (or even a caboose!) when you book a night at Tatamagouche’s Train Station Inn.
Monday: Back to reality
Sadly, all good things must come to an end. As you get back into the swing of things, use #GoodCheerTrail to share your stories and photos with all of your friends and encourage them to hit the trail. Don’t forget: 10 stamps on your passport means you receive a free Good Cheer Trail t-shirt!
