What’s Cooking in Nova Scotia February 24 to March 10?

Check out the culinary events taking place across Nova Scotia from February 24 to March 10:

February 27: Lane’s Privateer Inn Friday Night Fish Fry. Join Lane’s for the best Open Mic on the South Shore. You only need to bring your voice and maybe a guitar! The kitchen will be featuring Fish & Chips for $13.95.

Now until February 28: Dine Around. Every year, restaurants across the province showcase an array of Nova Scotia product and creativity at an attractive price during Dine Around. Running for the month of February, three course prix-fixe menus are offered at participating restaurants for the price of $25, $35, or $45 per dinner. Book directly with participating restaurants.

February 28: Winter Food & Wine Pairing at Ye Old Argyler Lodge.  Featuring the wines of Luckett Vineyards and live entertainment by Aldric Robicheau. Reservations required- call 902-643-2500.

February 28: Mexican Buffet Night at The Galley. The menu includes a taco bar, chipotle sweet potatoes, chile chocolate cup-cakes and much more! See the full menu here.

March 5: Savour Food & Wine Show. The Savour Food & Wine Show showcases some of Nova Scotia’s fine restaurants, wines and beverages – all under one roof!

March 7: Wine & Food Pairing Educational Seminar at Planters Ridge. Pairing wine with food leaves many mystified. Learn how different foods change the flavour of wine, and develop the confidence to choose wine like a pro. More information can be found here.

March 7: Atlantica Hotel Culinary 101 – Flavours of the Mediterranean. Topics include make your own pesto, stuffed grape leaves, Moroccan lamb (with a study of spices) and Spanish paella!

March 7: Winemaker vs. Brewmaster. This event is a unique local taste-off between Luckett Vineyards & Garrison Brewing Company! Pete Luckett and Daniel Girard will each receive a 5 course menu in advance, with the mission to put their best pairing forward for each course and present them to the guests! Every weekend until April 18/19: The All You Can Eat Maple Brunch from Acadian Maple Products is a great reason to get out of the house this winter. The menu includes Meadowbrook maple bacon, pancakes, maple baked beans, wild blueberry syrup, and much more!
