GARY MACDONALD CULINARY AMBASSADORS OF THE YEAR AWARD
Linda Best and Ann Anderson are the founding directors of Farmworks Investment Co-Operative and are on a mission to promote, and provide, strategic and responsible community investment in food production and distribution to increase access to a sustainable local food supply for all Nova Scotians. With a vision of healthy farms and healthy food, they have been the driving force and face behind raising investment money to support small agri-food related businesses, including farms, restaurants and producers.
At the age of 75 and 80 respectively, they travel from one end of the province to the other in efforts to support the local agriculture industry, raising awareness of Nova Scotia foods, the importance of buying and supporting local while putting before politicians and the public the plight of food security and sovereignty in the province.
