May the long weekend be filled with fun!
A long weekend is meant to be enjoyed with friends and family, a good brew and delicious food. Be it enjoying a glass of wine on the deck, or adventuring to other parts of Nova Scotia there is certainly lots to see, and do. No plans yet? We’ve got you covered with activities and food pairings across the province!
Halifax Metro-
The The Stubborn Goat Gastropub Beer Garden is NOW OPEN on the Halifax waterfront. Delicious food, all locally brewed craft beer on tap and a view that can’t be surpassed. They open this weekend, check-out their twitter account @TheStubbornGoat for hours.
It’s Bluenose Marathon Weekend! Good luck to all the runners, the charities and certainly the organizing team. After your run, or cheering on your runner, stop in to some of our members for a bite to eat, and celebrate. We’d suggest Five Fisherman Restaurant & Grill, Lot Six Bar & Restaurant or Morris East Restaurant for a snack. Before the big race, visit Just Us! for your caffeine fix to get you through the run.
Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley-
A beautiful adventure awaits in the Bay of Fundy area. Breakfast, a round of golf and gorgeous views are what are in store at Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa. There’s sure to be delicious fairs and with a bit of luck, we’ll have some great weather to enjoy the food as well.
South Shore-
Visit the Old Fish Factory Restaurant & Ice House Bar in Lunenburg this weekend, they just opened for the season. Join them for lunch, enjoy the folklore, music and fun to be had. Not able to make it to visit them? Try their recipe for South Shore Fish Cakes instead.
The South Shore Fish Shack in Lunenburg will be officially open for the season this weekend. With one of the best views in town and a traditional menu created by award-winning chef Martin Ruiz Salvador, it’s no surprise that this cute restaurant overlooking Lunenburg Harbour has become well know for it’s amazing fish and chips, fried Digby clams and Lobster Poutine!
Visit Haskapa Haskap Berry Products in Oakville May 21st from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. to try their products! Or visit them at their location in Mahone Bay, N.S. to enjoy a haskap ice-cream on the patio – that’s if we don’t eat it all first. If you’ve got some of their products at home, you should probably make a cocktail such as the Haskaparita using haskap juice!
