What’s Cooking March 1 to 7, 2017?
The groundhog has us feeling extremely hopeful, the snow is starting to melt and temperatures are slowly rising… Spring feels like it’s just around the corner. This week we have several events to celebrate the new season – whether it’s creating art over cocktails, indulging in pancakes and maple syrup or planning for March Break, we have it all right here!
February 28: Pancake Tuesday
Here at Taste of Nova Scotia we love any occasion associated with maple syrup! Not sure what to make tonight for Pancake Tuesday? Check out some of our favourite pancake recipes: Snow Pancakes from Rime Resturant and Pumpkin Pancakes from Harbour City Bar & Grill. Don’t forget to top your fluffy pancakes with delicious maple syrup from Acadian Maple or Sugar Moon Farm.
March: Sugar Season at Sugar Moon Farm
Here in Nova Scotia, March always brings maple – and if you’re anything like us, then you want to celebrate the sugar season. Join Sugar Moon Farm this weekend for their celebrations: learn, hike, shop and eat! Enjoy everything to do with maple syrup and so much more!

March 2 to 5: Astor Theatre & White Point Beach
This weekend head to the ocean side to experience a talented local theatre production. Astor Theatre in Liverpool presents midsummer.com, a full-length youth comedy by Flip Kobler & Cindy Marcus. March 3: Paint the Shore Red
This Friday, create art over cocktails and appetizers – guided by a professional artist at Atlantica Oak Island Resort. Grab your friends and spend the evening laughing, drinking and finding your inner artist. After painting, enjoy the rest of your evening at the charming resort.

March 3 to 5: Motorcycle & Powersport Atlantic Show
The open road, tracks and trails – If bikes are your thing, then this is one show you’ll have to see. Check out the latest technology, coolest rides, demos and special features. Keep an eye out for Taste members – Ironworks and Still Fired Distillery will be there!

March 5: Maple Brunch Buffet at the Flying Apron
This special event celebrates the sweetest taste of the season – maple syrup! Enjoy buttermilk pancakes, maple sausages, maple pecan tarts and so much more. Reservations are highly recommended, as events fill up fast at The Flying Apron Inn and Cookery!

March 4 & 5: Icewine Festival
Highlighting Nova Scotia wine, Icewine and cuisine. Hosted in the heart of Annapolis Valley this is an event for any wine lover. March 13 to 17: March Break at The Stubborn Goat
March break is just around the corner and The Stubborn Goat is ready for it. Between March 13 and 17 all week long, kids can enjoy a free Mac n’ Cheese! Drop by after visiting the new Discovery Centre, going for an afternoon skate at the Emera Oval or even after spending the day at the Halifax Library.
