Heritage Series: Annapolis Cider Company

AN APPLE A DAY

September 14: If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, cider lovers are in luck! You’ll get more than your fair share of apples (and good cheer!) with hard apple cider from Annapolis Cider Company.

Their Heritage Series strives to reveal the authentic expression of Nova Scotia’s most prized cider apple varieties. Savour the uniqueness of our region’s apple growing tradition!

Northern Spy – 7.8% ABV

This single-varietal cider is crafted from hand-picked Northern Spy apples, a North American heirloom variety renowned for its sharp flavour and subtle sweetness. Golden-hued with bright notes of fresh apple, this cider is a celebration of one of Nova Scotia’s most prized cider apples.

Old Fashioned Gravenstein –  7.4% ABV

This single-varietal cider is crafted from hand-picked local Gravenstein apples, a traditional heriloom variety that is only available in autumn. This elegant pale-hued cider has a crisp apple flavour and fresh apple aroma that celebrates Gravenstein’s 150 year history as a local favourite.

Geneva Crab Rose – 8.6% ABV

This cider is crafted solely from hand-picked local crabapples. First, Golden Hyslop crabapples are pressed and fermented dry. Then, fresh-pressed juice from Geneva Red crabapples is cyro-extracted, enhacing this red-fleshed apple’s natural tannin and colour. Blending both together results in this unique, scarlet-tinged rosé with a distinct tannin structure and intense notes of tart apple.
750 ml – $18.99
To Purchase: Annapolis Cider Company – in store or online

Annapolis Cider Company is a trail stop on the 2018 Good Cheer Trail. Be sure to get your passport stamped when you visit!
