As far back as 1892, the Gidneys exported live lobsters via steamship to Boston, Massachusetts. Four family generations later, Gidney Fisheries continues this tradition of procuring, processing and delivering sweet Nova Scotian lobster throughout the world.
We buy our lobsters directly from local fishermen for 9.5 months out of the year. Our 800,000+ pounds capacity for live lobster holding allows us to leverage the convenience and quality of high-pressure processing (HPP). This process delivers raw frozen lobster meat, which is de-shelled and free from additives and preservatives, to the retail and food service industries 12 months of the year.
