Homemade Applesauce
There is nothing better than home-made apple sauce made with hand-picked apples from a Nova Scotia orchard. Try this easy recipe next time you get an applesauce craving!
Ingredients
1 cup | apple cider or juice |
4 | Nova Scotia apples |
1/4 cup | raisins |
½ tsp. | cinnamon |
pinch | cloves or allspice |
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until boiling.
- Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, stirring often, until thickened (about 20 minutes). Makes 2.5 cups.
