Homemade Applesauce

Noggins Apple

There is nothing better than home-made apple sauce made with hand-picked apples from a Nova Scotia orchard. Try this easy recipe next time you get an applesauce craving! 

Ingredients

1 cup apple cider or juice
4 Nova Scotia apples
1/4 cup raisins
½ tsp. cinnamon
pinch cloves or allspice

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until boiling.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, stirring often, until thickened (about 20 minutes). Makes 2.5 cups.
