Pork Schnitzel

Ingredients
6 | pork cutlets (leg steaks 460g) |
1 | egg |
¼ cup | milk |
½ cup | flour |
2 cups | seasoned breadcrumbs (salt & pepper) |
¼ cup | olive oil |
1 ½ cups | tomato sauce (either homeade or your favourite pasta sauce) |
2 cups | grated mozzarella cheese |
½ cup | finely sliced green peppers |
½ cup | thinly sliced button mushrooms |
½ cup | diced tomatoes – seeds removed or half grape tomatoes (optional) |
Directions
- Pound cutlets very thin.
- Blend egg and milk.
- Dust the cutlets in the flour.
- Dip cutlet into egg.
- Roll in seasoned bread crumbs.
- Heat oil in a large skillet.
- Fry cutlets until golden brown on each side( 1.5 to 2.5 minutes per side).
- Remove and place on a cookie sheet linedwith parchment paper.
- Spoon 30 ml of tomato sauce onto each cutlet.
- Sprinkle with cheese, green peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes.
- Broil in oven 3 to 5 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve Hot.
