As the weather starts to cool down, new festivals and events start to heat up! AND our Taste of the Month for September is OYSTERS – shells yeah! Stay tuned for lots of great recipes and oyster fun.
September 12: Date Night
We think it’s time for a date night! From September 12 till October 1, head over to watch Neptune Theatre present Porte Parole’s production of SEEDS. Make it an eventful night and grab a bite to eat at one of the nearby restaurants such as: Highwayman, Durty Nelly’s, Obladee, 2 Doors Down, Chives Canadian Bistro, Gio, Lot Six & The Stubborn Goat!
September 18: Avondale Garlic Fest
Are you a garlic fan? Then head to the beautiful Avondale Sky Winery. Chefs will be demonstrating their techniques while creating all things garlic. Artists from across the Maritimes will fill sixty tents with fabulous juried art. Great food will be available all day while wonderful music will provide the soundtrack to this great new event. September 14: September Food Truck Party
What better way to say farewell to Summer then by attending a giant Food Truck Party? Enjoy food trucks, pop-up vendors and a balcony for drinks! Keep an eye out for Taste of Nova Scotia members Bulwark Cider and Garrison Brewing Company, as well as Good Cheer Trail participants Good Robot Brewing Company and Sober Island Brewing Company. September 16: Fusion Inclusion Festival
This Saturday, check out Fusion Inclusion at the Garrison Grounds! This free Cultural and Diversity Festival will be packed with performances featuring music and dance from across the globe, food vendors dishing flavors of the world, vendors selling unique products, community booths offering invaluable information and beer tent! September 16: Garrison Oktoberfest
Halifax’s Original Oktoberfest Opens its gates to the public at 11 AM, with traditional German food, Music and of course Garrison Beer all day long. Make sure you don’t miss out on the world famous Garrison Craft Beer! More Info: Garrison Oktoberfest
September 16: Lloyd Spiegel at the Union Street
This Saturday, head over to The Union Street to enjoy a night filled with delicious food and amazing tunes. Lloyd Spiegel, Australian Blues Award Winner will be playing all evening. September 23: Oktoberfest at the Flying Apron

Halifax Oktoberfest: Celebrate German culture with Garrison Brewing Company! This event kicks off with their Hops ‘n’ Brats event on September 15, followed by an all day Oktoberfest celebration on September 16.
