What’s Cooking: June 28 – July 4

The last week of June is not going to disappoint with a fabulous line up events across the province! Enjoy Canada Day long weekend with live music, activities and markets. Keep reading to find out what’s cooking this week near you!

Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo

The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo is global entertainment in Halifax that provides spectacle through marching bands, acrobats, dancers, military displays, pipes and drums, and much more! The Tattoo is a registered not-for-profit charity with the following mission: to honour Canada’s Armed Forces, RCMP, and other first responders and to celebrate the heritage of Canadians’ contributions. From June 28 – July 1, the festivities will be taking place and a few amazing Taste of Nova Scotia members are partners this year so keep an eye out for them!

Jost Vineyards

Sober Island Brewing

Looking to get your hands on local this summer? It doesn’t have to stop at food and drink!  Visit Sober Island Brewing June 29 and check out work from local artisans at their Welcome Summer Pop Up Market! From 12 p.m – 3 p.m. browse a variety of art and support the community of Musquodoboit Harbour.


Leo’s Donair

Originally scheduled for last weekend, the rain has moved the fun to Saturday, June 29! Head out to Timberlea for Leo’s Donair and their annual Summerfest. Enjoy sweet and salty snacks, a bouncy castle, and more fun activities! Make sure you show up on an empty stomach because their will be good food to accompany the good time. An added bonus is that all proceeds go to the IWK!


Church Brewing Company

The Fabulously Rich are rocking out at Church Brewing Company in Wolfville on June 30! Groove to the tunes of the Canadian band that started as a live tribute to The Tragically Hip. Enjoy live music after a delicious meal and grab a cold one while you’re there! Tickets available on eventbrite.ca.

Saltbox Brewing Company

June 30 is a big day for the daredevils! After two post-ponings conditions are finally looking ready for the races. Drop by Saltbox Brewing Company in Mahone Bay to grab a drink and watch the thrill-seekers race handmade soapbox cars. Proceeds raised are going to the Bayview School Breakfast Program! Digby Pines Golf Resort & Spa
